As China’s power industry continues to thrive, each key project plays a crucial role in driving energy transformation and ensuring power supply. State Energy Group Taizhou Power Generation Co., Ltd., a shining star in the sector, has become a vital force in the Jiangsu electric power grid and the national energy landscape thanks to its outstanding technical strength and achievements. Datong Longyuan is honored to participate by contributing to its raw coal bunker anti-blockage retrofit project, jointly writing a new chapter for the power industry.

Taizhou Power Generation Co., Ltd. is a key project under China Guodian Corporation in Jiangsu Province. As a pivotal power station in the “north-to-south” power transmission network and a major driver of regional economic development, the plant has a total planned capacity of 4,000 MW, built in two phases. The first phase, with two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical units, was commissioned in 2008. The second phase includes two additional 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical units with double reheat technology, successfully commissioned in 2015 and 2016.

Taizhou Power Plant has always been at the forefront of technological innovation, utilizing the world’s most advanced ultra-supercritical unit technology. This results in high power generation efficiency and low coal consumption. The second-phase project is a global first, successfully applying double reheat technology to a 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired unit. With a coal consumption of only 265 g/kWh and generation efficiency exceeding 47.8%, it is currently the most efficient coal-fired unit worldwide, setting a new benchmark for the industry.

In terms of environmental performance, the plant is equally outstanding. As early as 2012, it adopted a forward-thinking ultra-low emissions strategy featuring a six-field ESP, single-tower double-cycle, and wet electrostatic precipitator setup. High-standard environmental facilities ensured that emissions were compliant from the start, making it the first coal-fired project in China to meet natural gas emission standards.
